Quality education is about possibilities. It is about success in real life, discovering the child's innate talents, excitement in learning new things, and being a good human being and a contributing citizen.

Dr. Rashid Raashed

Moheshkhali Foundation for Leadership Education and Development is an educational trust dedicated to provide world-class education to the disadvantaged rural students in Bangladesh. Among other activities, providing education to the poor but gifted in rural Bangladesh is our prime priority. We strive to achieve this priority, through Leadership High School (LHS) and Leadership University College (LUC). In establishing this foundation, the only mission that drove us forward was, the ‘dire need to build bridge between professional knowledge and skills of future Muslim leaders in science and technology. This has to be coupled with their formal training on the issues of Da’wah and Shari’ah’. In serving the humanity and promoting the cause of calling people to the path of God, we are truly colour-blind! Here it is, in black and white: ‘Go for the colour of God, as nothing would supersede His colour’, declares the Qur’an (صبغة هللا من أحسن ومن، هللا صبغة (02:138. No incentive would thus, ever be strong enough to allure us away from the commitment as above. Ignorance of Muslims about Islam and the Qur’an is the root cause behind the adverse global campaign against them. There is no shortage of those who would pretend to sleep, but in fact, are awake! You would never wake them up! Their ‘attempt to blow-off the light of God by the wind of their mouth’, is no new story. (The Qur’an 61:08). Deterrence such as these, will never therefor, deviate our efforts. Indeed, there is a great enjoyment in working with adversaries that though ideologically competitive, but are, intellectually enriching! Having declared its policy (109:06), as ‘you already have a religion of your choice, which is also fine by me, so, please let me have mine’ ( ،دينكم لكمدين ولي ,(the Qur’an has no enemy! In building competitive quality, we would prove unrivalled. For protecting the humanity at large, we would go extra length. In upholding justice, we would invest the maximum effort. In deterring the aggression however, we would fiercely fight. All these are the intricate parts of Islam and they are all globally good! We envisage student cohorts that would be the messengers of hope, peace and optimism to the world humanity. The term ‘panorama of colours’ in our school anthem, and the desire to attend it, refer to the global human race. With the identity as ‘the soldiers of the Qur’an’, we take upon us the oath to worship none other than God! This is the only identity that we have. Indeed, this is the only one that we would zealously fight to protect! Dr Rashid Raashed, based in Sydney is currently the Director of Islamic Bank Australia. He is the founder and Chairman of Leadership High School and College, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. He graduated with speciality in Hadith from Islamic University, Patya, Chittagong, Bangladesh, BA (Hons) in Arabic and Islamic Studies, Tripoli, Libya, MA (Usyd) and PhD (Macquarie Uni) in Islamic Financial System.

Advisor

Cdre M Zakirul Islam

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah. It is with great honor and immense pleasure that I extend my heartfelt greetings as the Adviser of Leadership High School and College (LHSC), situated in the heart of Moheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar. This institution stands as a beacon of hope and learning in this region, and I am truly privileged to be a part of its noble journey. Education is the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities, and I wish to contribute meaningfully to the educational landscape of Bangladesh through this institution. My vision is to help shape LHSC into a world-class center of learning—one that not only excels academically but also nurtures responsible, skilled, and forward-thinking citizens. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Raashid Rashed, the esteemed founder of LHSC. His vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in establishing this institution are deeply commendable. Dr. Rashed is not only an educational pioneer but also a remarkable social worker whose contributions to the local community have touched many lives. I would also like to express my gratitude to the school committee, teaching team, students, parents, government officials, local community and every individual who played a role in making this dream a reality. His dedication to education, to community, and to building a brighter tomorrow truly reflects the spirit of humanitarian service that LHSC holds dear. To further strengthen the institution, I wish to help the institute in introducing state-of-the-art facilities including modern science and technology labs, a well-resourced digital library, and an engaging, creativity nurturing and student-centered environment. These advancements will help raise the standard of education and equip our students with the tools they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Looking ahead, one of my key aspirations is to incorporate technical and vocational education in near future. By aligning our academic offerings with modern-day societal and market demands, we can ensure our graduates are not only academically sound but also practically skilled and professionally prepared. Together with our dedicated faculty, staff, and the unwavering support of our community, I believe we can make Leadership School and College a center of excellence—not only for Moheshkhali but also for the entire nation. Let us move forward with passion, purpose, and a shared dream of shaping the future through education. May Allah (SWT) bless this school, protect its students, and grant barakah to everyone involved. With my deepest respect and du'as for all. Cdre M Zakirul Islam, ndc, psc, BN (Retd.) Adviser Leadership High School and College Moheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar
